LED Lights. Why would you choose to use LED lights? Here are three great reasons to consider the next time you are are replacing, renewing or installing lights in your home or commercial space.
1. Energy use.
This has to be the biggest advantage of using LED lights, they use very little power compared to the light they output. Comparing to traditional incandescent light bulbs LEDs are light years ahead, if you pardon the pun. A 60-watt incandescent light bulb outputs approximately 700 lumens giving a watt to lumen ratio of 12 lumens per watt, while an LED can produce 85+ lumens per watt dependent on make and style. So as you can see they are excellent energy saving products.
2. Long Life.
LEDs just last extremely long, in excess of 30,000 hours of operation with some achieving well in excess of 100,000 hours. To put that into context 30,000 hours of operation, say 6 hours a day equates to over 13 years of life. On average a standard incadescent need replacing every 1,200 hours or just 200 days if used for 6 hours a day. Now that is a huge difference! So with a long life comes money saving, the less times you have to replace the less money you have to fork out.
Another great benefit of their long life is the vastly reduced maintenance time and cost associated with LEDs. No up and down ladders every five minutes to replace bulbs reducing risk of injury, they are a simple install and forget product, which is ideal for most situations.
